Clotting

Post by Fastinggirl »

Hello, I am interested in knowing about dry fasting when someone has a blood clotting disorder. In my case, I don’t have a genetic predisposition to clotting just being told my body likes to clot. I’m currently on Xarelto and I’m wondering since the blood volume goes down in dry fasting is the risk of creating a blood clot as in a DVT or pulmonary embolism increased with dry fasting. I cannot find any information anywhere except for archaic advice saying not to but Id like other people‘s opinion and experiences if possible thank you.

Why are you fasting with a blood clot disorder? To cure the disorder (I doubt it since, you offhandedly mentioned youre being told it likes to clot?)

It's a common safety oriented response to tell people with any blood or heart issues not to dry fast, because it's riskier than water fasting when it comes to blood issues/heart issues they go hand in hand. Have you explored water fasting as an alternative?

I've worked with a couple people that had these issues. The first step was to make sure there are no actual problems identified via blood test, EKG, etc. If clear, the recommendation is always low-carb prep until fat-adapted (google it) then go for the 5 day scorch protocol dry fast. The only problem is if you are ALREADY on a low carb diet for a very long time and still getting all these issues (including bloodclots). Then it becomes an attempt to focus on thyroid therapy, aspirin, + other key thyroidal supplements, because your situation is completely different.

Clotting is highly correlated with hypothyroidism (even when blood tests are normal but your body temp is low). The scorch protocol HEAVILY focuses on aspirin and T3 to combat this, but you'd have to tip toe your way into it in the beginning.

fwiw, a short DF+WF thinned out my blood a LOT. Not a dangerous amount, but significantly, similarly to when I went from meat to raw vegan diet years ago. 2dDF+5dWF I have okay viscosity in my blood as starting point but it thickens some when I have EMF exposure, which I did during the fast. I realize my start point is diff than yours but just as a data point :O)
